Injectables

Juvederm

Juvederm is a "temporary" injectable or filler. This filler, made up of hyaluronic acid, is a natural component of your skin tissue. That means it is easily accepted by your facial tissues. The areas most commonly injected are the lips and the deep creases on either side of your nose and mouth (nasolabial areas). This filler lasts anywhere from 6 to 9 months. It is sometimes very useful to use this temporary filler before you consider a permanent change.

Restylane

Restylane like Juvederm is a temporary filler that is used to enhance the lips, fill in facial wrinkles and folds. Restylane and Perlane contain hyaluronic acid which is a biocompatible substance. Unlike Artecoll it does not require any preliminary testing. The effects of Restylane and Perlane usually last about 6 months. Many individuals like the option of this temporary filler as it allows them to see what they can look like, before they decide to make it a permanent change.

Artecoll

Unlike fillers such as Juvederm, Restylane and Perlane, Artecoll is permanent. What it involves is injecting it into the fold or crease you want corrected. Your own body will then produce natural collagen to surround it. It will take up to 3 months to enjoy the full results.

Artecoll has been proven to be useful for:

  • Lip augmentation
  • Acne scars
  • Facial folds and wrinkles
  • Irregularities of the nose

Please note however, that a skin test must be done to ensure there are no allergies.
